I bought my first mountain bike here many years ago. All of the staff are extremely knowledgeable, polite, and helpful. They really do know their stuff. Definitely my favourite bike shop in the city. I’ve also brought my road bike in for a tuneup etc. here and there, and the work is always done flawlessly and in a timely manner. The selection of parts is fantastic as well.

Had such a great experience picking out bike last fall. What a difference a good bike makes. Thanks guys!

Fantastic shop, Jose is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and knew what I was looking for and had what might be pretty obscure parts ready to go for my trials bike, great to find someone who was even familiar with trials riding. I am a visitor to Ottawa only in town briefly and you got a bunch of work done very quickly within my timeframe. Thanks very much, I am happy to refer your shop to any cyclists in the future coming into Ottawa

I am a big support your local bike shop person. But a good LBS is only as good as its word. I cannot say I am impressed after having my time wasted and being lied to multiple times by Joe Mamma Cycles.

Today I went to pick up the bike, naturally a little bit frustrated. When I got to the store, I was told that I would not be charged for the cog (around a 50$ value) because of the inconvenience of having to wait so long.

I bought a fixie from Joe Mamma's almost two years ago and it was time to replace the chain, chain ring and cog (which I was quoted at about 200$ for all the parts plus tax). I brought my bike in at the beginning of may to get everything replaced but there was a problem with the company that was supposed to send the chain ring. In the end I spent almost 2 weeks waiting, without having my bike, while my part did not come in. When the part finally came in it was not the right size and did not fit on my bike. At this point I got offered a chain ring from a different company which was fit on my bike within a few days.

Joe Mamma's managed to turn an experience that could have been less than ideal to a situation where I left the store with a big smile on my face. They took a hit for a holdup that was not their fault. I know that this will be the only bike store I visit as long as I live in this city, 5 stars.

I have been a customer at Joe Mamma's for probably around 4 years at this point and there is a reason I keep coming back. While all my experiences have been good so far I want to describe today's experience just to prove how much these guys care about customer service.

Took 2.5 months to get a single part I ordered and paid up front for from them. Dropped by and called a couple times before I got it 2.5 months later. Last time I talked to them on the phone I was told by the worker that they would put it on for me free of charge due to the delay on a relatively simple and common part. Picked it up today, and they couldn't put it on because no mechanics were in which I suppose is fair enough, however they wanted me to book an appointment and wouldn't commit to putting it on for free despite my earlier conversations. So I don't book the tune-up appointment because I am not paying that amount of money when all I need is a SS free wheel put on my bike. I leave angry and get home to start the work on my own only to find out they gave me the wrong part. So I have to drive back again to get the part I ordered in April, in July.
