  When the men arrived they were extremely efficient. They wrapped all of my furniture items in special blankets. They made sure everything was bubble wrapped including my grandmothers special plate. Runners were provided to cover the floors as well as it was muddy that day.

  The guys who were dropping off my stuff at my house were not good, unlike the guys who wrapped and picked up. They ignored fragile signs. They broke multiple pieces of furniture. Given the high deductible in the contract for the insurance...they’re not going to pay for anything. They need to break over 900 pounds of your stuff before they would need to pay you anything (0.6$ per pound, 450$ deductible). What a rip off.

  As much as I liked the guys who picked up the furniture (and thought they did a great job wrapping and protecting everything), the company clearly rips you off by completely making up the ‘actual weight’. They quoted me 700$ for my 1 apartment condo and ended up charging 1,500$. Also, the pick up was late by 4 hours! I had booked an elevator in my building...and didn’t get pick up till AFTER the end time I had it booked for. I had to pay a fee to the building for using the elevator for an entire day basically...ridiculous.

  I had to move across the country for my job and had to book my move last minute. I am a professor so I had to leave my family behind and coordinate all of this via email. I was not packed to say the least but when the truck and men arrived they helped my wife and kids pack some of my things into boxes. They told me I would be charged for this and they were really helpful. My sales rep (Michael) took the time to review my moving inventory and gave me a quote. I was shocked and happy at the same time when that didn’t change at billing time.. My rep who is also the local Ontario manager Michael gave me my cost for packing which was fair. To be honest I had no choice. My family was not in a position to pack everything on their own. Needless to say I was very happy with the service. There were some delays during the move, but I was always in communication with Michael and he kept me updated on when delivery would take place. When the trailer arrived, Michael called me first thing and sent an exclusive truck for next day delivery. So aside from this 2-3 day delay, I was impressed. Keep in mind that they say departure date and not delivery dates – that was my only surprise during this.

  Just do your self a favour. Go with another company. Get a Uhaul truck do it yourself. You’re likely to not only save money and save your stuff. You might also save time given that they didn’t even keep to their estimated pick up time...

  They sent me a form to fill out with a good estimate. I was satisfied to pay that. At the end we paid exactly what was quoted originally plus taxes and a month and a half of storage. This was very pleasing to me as I was afraid of bad surprises. All in all I would call them again when I need to go back to Manitoba.

  The truck arrived a day late because of a weather storm, but they did call me and notify me which was nice. I was a bit upset but the managers at the head office were accommodating.

  I moved from North York, ON to Maple Ridge, BC and in September with my 4 small children. This was a very stressful move for us, especially my children. I spoke with Michael at Alliance. I expressed my concerns to them and they reassured me that my move would go well. The truck arrived on time and the guys who did the moving were great. I had one box that was missing but when I called my rep he was able to locate the box and return it to me. If you have to move use these guys!!!! Thanks again!

  My move was from Portage La Prairie, MB to Burnaby in British Columbia. The guy who I dealt with Alliance was Michael and he was nice to deal with. I was very service but he was able to answer all of my questions.

  I complained about one fee that didn’t show up anywhere in the contract, they refunded me that (it was a 100$ fee). I wonder how many people wouldn’t complain about anything and get ripped off even more cause of those made up fees.

  My actual weight apparently was almost double what was quoted/estimated! What a joke. And I have no way of verifying this. Except by going off ikea website there’s no way my stuff weighed almost 4,000 pounds for a one bed room apartment!!!
