  Unfortunately, there aren't many great Italian restaurants in Ottawa. Giovanni's from my experience has been one of the most decent in town though. The staff and overall service at Giovanni's is top notch. Very friendly and hospitable staff. Everytime I've been there the owner of the restaurant checks on every table just to say hi and to ensure people are enjoying their meal.

  An authentic Italian experience. The food was great and you will experience genuine warm Italian hospitality. The pastas were just amazing.

  Incredible service, perhaps the best service I have ever received! I went with my boyfriend for his birthday, and we were very pleased with the entire experience. From the moment we entered, to the moment we left the service was impeccable, someone opened the door for us, someone else grabbed our coats, there was no wait and we were given a romantic 2 person table. The waiter was very friendly and recommended a delicious bottle of wine, our plates were promptly taken away and our wine glasses were always full, I found the price very reasonable and will certainly be returning again soon! I

  Honestly, not super impressed with this place. I really wanted to like it, but the restaurant is so small that where we were seated felt a bit claustrophobic and the chairs were uncomfortable. The food was good, but I didn't feel it really matched up to the prices. Most of the high end Italian places offer oil and vinegar for the bread, we were given practically frozen butter, the zucchini and fettuccine Alfredo were on par with much cheaper restaurants. Though, the owner seemed friendly as he was going around the tables and the service was good and attentive.

  Good service but the restaurant is too small for the amount of tables you have. I got the feeling that they were pressuring us to leave, in addition to having to wait almost 20 minutes at the door having a confirmed reservation. I do not think I'll come back even though the food was wonderful.

  While the food wont blow your mind away, it's still quite good. The burrata which they sometimes have on special is a must try (mind you it is overpriced). I've tried a few different options from the main courses, all of which were nice, but none that particularly stand out IMO.
