  Very British style structure. You feel like you teleported to England. They make their own beer in the basement of the building. I went downstairs to take a quick look. It's a very cramped and damp space. They are building a large addition to the building to expand the brewing operation. The food was acceptable but not special. The ambiance is its strongest asset.

  Great country pub with a first class line up of craft beers brewed on site. Food is very good. Only place in this area I know of that serves boxty. Give it a go!

  This pub has a true pub flair. From the low ceilings to the menu and then the general ambiance with a true fireplace. The minute you walk in you feel as if you have been travelling. Its a tight setting that doubles as a brewery. Now to be honest my husband dislikes micro breweries in general. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because you can't get a draft domestic beer here. The food is quite good and the prices typical. Not one menu item stands out but it is all tasty and I have never felt like I didn't get value. We have been here many times. Another thing to note...Ashton is a small community and the locals hang out here and are not overly friendly. Now this is no fault of the owners but it would be nice if as a stranger walking in I was greeted with a few more smiles. The staff are lovely and friendly but the other patrons could use a lesson on welcoming outsiders into their local pub. Everyone wants to feel included at a pub. I keep going back though! So that's got to speak for itself.
