  It's MEC, good in house Brand. Over the years it seems to have evolved from a dedicated hardcore outdoorsy to an urban lifestyle shop. But it still has very durable outdoor gear. I'm still using gear I bought 16 years ago and it's holding up well. It's worth the $5.00 membership

  I love this place with all my heart. A one stop shop for all of my outdoor needs with an extremely knowledgeable staff. As an individual who can't go a day without seeing the sun, I love the variety of goods that are available for the wide variety of activities that I do. From road and trail running to canoe tripping, climbing, and mountain biking MEC has it all. As a camp counselor, I know that I will always come away happy with everything that I need and then some. Thankfully, I don't live that close, or I wouldn't have money to buy food with or pay my rent. Keep up the fantastic environment, MEC! See you soon!!

  The Ottawa location is an great shopping experience. The store is well laid out and easy to navigate. Helpful employees are abundant. Prices are fair and the ability to check store stock online (and have it be accurate) before heading into Westboro is greatly appreciated. Parking can be a challenge at the busiest of times but their paid lot (which has a couple charging stations for electric vehicles) usually has room unlike the street parking which can be limited and a challenge for larger vehicles.

  Mountain Equipment Co-op - A great Canadian source for high quality outdoor gear. I have bought many backpacks, mitts, hats, jackets, helmets and various camping gear from there and have never been disappointed. Prices may seem a bit high, but the quality is also very good. For many outdoor items it really is the best price to quality ratio you can find. Very good staff and service as well.
